About

Ari looking okay

Hi, I’m Ariane Foucher

I’m the owner of very okay, but I’m also someone’s mom and a lightning-fast jigsaw puzzle solver. I identify as multiply-neurodivergent and neuroqueer. I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I work mostly with couples and neurodivergent individuals.

As a couples therapist, I work primarily with couples who have lost their emotional connection and wish to revive it. I help clients gain mutual clarity through deeper understanding of self and each other. My approach to couples therapy is grounded in existentialism, and influenced by emotionally focused therapy (EFT).

In individual therapy, I work primarily with those who identify as gifted, creative, neurodivergent, and/or highly sensitive. Our work together is often one of meaning-making, authenticity, and purpose. My approach to individual therapy is grounded in existentialism, borrowing interventions form internal family systems (IFS) when clinically relevant.

I will be able to accept new private practice clients in September 2025.

My therapeutic approach

My work is grounded in existential psychotherapy. It is important for clients to know that my approach is mostly unstructured and that I am (gently) direct. I view human experiences through a non-pathological lens, and recognize the unique complexity and humanity of each individual—beyond labels.

I tend to work well with those who have attended therapy in the past and have already cultivated a high level of self-awareness—those who are now looking to expand their consciousness and integrate the tools they have gathered over time.

Clients often seek my therapeutic help to explore:

  • Relationship issues;

  • Mixed-neurotype relationships;

  • Authenticity, meaning, and purpose;

  • Complex trauma (c-ptsd);

  • Existential questions, anxiety, and depression;

  • Giftedness and positive disintegration;

  • Grief and loss;

  • Late-identified neurodivergence (autism, AuDHD, ADHD);

  • Life transitions.
