About

Hi, I’m Ariane Foucher

I’m the owner of very okay, but I’m also someone’s mom and a lightning-fast jigsaw puzzle solver. I identify as neurodivergent and neuroqueer. I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I work mostly with couples and neurodivergent individuals.

As a couples therapist, I work primarily with partners who have lost their emotional connection and who are struggling to hear each other out. I guide partners in finding mutual clarity through deeper understanding of themselves and each other.

In individual therapy, I work primarily with those who identify as gifted, creative, neurodivergent, and/or highly sensitive. Our work together is often grounded in meaning-making, authenticity, and purpose.

My therapeutic approach

My work is grounded in existential psychotherapy. It is important for clients to know that my approach is dynamic (i.e. unstructured) and direct. I view human experiences through a non-pathological lens, recognizing the unique complexity and humanity of each individual beyond labels. I tend to work well with those who have attended therapy in the past and have already cultivated a high level of self-awareness.

My approach is trauma-informed, and I am pursuing specialized training in the treatment of complex trauma. My work combines depth, insight, and emotional attunement to help clients navigate their inner world and relationships, drawing on tools from EFT, parts work, attachment theory, and psychodynamic frameworks.
